High Power Rocketry

The Zephyr

My First High powered rocket, the Zephyr from Apogee Rockets, is a simplistic and rugged rocket designed to be reliable and nearly indestructible. To date I have flown this rocket three times with only a failure on the first launch.

Launches:

Launch 1: Flying on an Aerotech H100W with an eight second delay, this first launch was my first attempt at my L1 High Power Certification. Following a nominal liftoff, the parachute deployment charge built into the motor failed to ignite properly, causing a failure to deploy the parachute fully. However the vehicle was able to land safely even with a reduced parachute.

Flight Status: Failure

Launch 2: Flying on an Aerotech H100W with a fourteen second delay, this second launch was a complete success from takeoff to touchdown

Flight Status: Success

Launch 3: Flying on a Cesaroni J270W with a fourteen second delay, the third launch was my first attempt at my L2 High Power Certification. This launch was also a complete success from takeoff to touchdown.

Flight Status: Success
